GEICO shoots video at our Los Angeles location
When the producers for GEICO needed to find an interesting antique store to film their latest 30 second commercial, they decided Olde Good Things was the place to go. In early fall 2016, they contacted us and made their request. We thought it was a fun idea, and the next thing we knew they brought in their huge crew and took over the whole place for an entire day. For a 30 second commercial it was quite a to-do. Here’s a mother and daughter inspecting our antique door knobs. You can see the same wares today at our 10,000 square foot location where this was filmed, but sadly not the cuckcoo clock that they brought in with remote controls and voice-over actors. Nice job GEICO and thanks for the fun moment at Olde Good Things.

Entry Transformation Using Reclaimed Glass
The craftsmanship is typical of what you would find from the days gone by. When Paul took on this job, he decided vintage glass would bring the right finishing touch, and sure enough he was right.
Safety glass in a hammered texture is no longer fabricated new with this twisted chicken wire. Therefore Olde Good Things specializes in reclaiming factory windows and making this glass available today.
Take a look at the gallery of pictures from this installation and view the video of Paul Lombardo in his fabrication stages.

Olde Good Things Featured on the Bronson Pinchot Project HGTV
What He Bought
Olde Good Things was featured on HGTV’s Bronson Pinchot Project on their ‘Main House Garden‘ episode. In this episode, Bronson tries to tame the scraggly patch of grass and shrubs next to his house that passes for a garden. But in Bronson’s world gardening involves less planting and more building. Bronson visited one of our warehouses located on Brook Street in Scranton, Pa., and purchased 100 copper shingles that were salvaged from a 100-year-old church steeple roof. For years now we’ve been repurposing the shingles into copper mirrors, seen below. Bronson also purchased a copper cupola several months before, featured on the show. There is a similar Cupola dome with louvered sides still available.
