This is made of hand sewn denim and linen patches on canvas, with a wood and iron frame. Made by S. B. Rittenhouse in Liberty Mills, Indiana. The age is estimated between 1888 and 1920’s. The seed bag hangs in front of you by a leather strap over your neck. To operate the seed spreader, fill the bag with seeds or oats and turn the wooden handle, the cast iron gear mechanism will turn the windmill style spreader arms to spread the seeds.
