19th Century Louis XVI French Regency marble mantel. This mantel has modest details with classic floral motifs and fluted carvings along the very slightly angled vertical supports. The marble is in good condition, having some wear consistent with its age. The mantel is stamped Made in France. The pictured hearth is not included. This mantel is one of several antique mantels imported from France, to decorate the historic Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York City which opened October 1, 1931. It was located in suite 1114.
