French Regency Louis XVI Style Carrara marble mantel with beaded detail at the center, and carved floral corner motifs. The curved vertical supports are fluted, with carved details approaching the plinths. Original matching marble hearthstone. There is some staining of the hearthstone and minor wear. However, this mantel was removed by Olde Good Things in a very good overall condition. This marble mantel was one of a collection, of Antique French mantels imported to decorate the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, from its opening on Park Avenue in 1931. This mantel is original to Room 36R.
