Plaza Hotel White Carrara Marble Fireplace Mantel

This classic white Carrara marble fireplace mantel features floral motifs, fluted columns, and a serpentine apron. Outstanding trim details add elegance to the modest design. Circa early 1900’s, the images shown represent the mantels that are available, but please note that the actual mantels in stock may not possess identical veining as the one depicted. The rear edge of the mantel shelf where it meets the chimney wall is 58″ long.

These mantels were made in the United States for the Plaza Hotel which opened its doors on October 1, 1907. The Plaza expanded over a decade later, and this mantel was removed by Olde Good Things prior to its 2005 renovation.

The mantel is in good condition with age appropriate wear. The cast iron surround is available and is included with your purchase. All of the mantel shelves in the Plaza Hotel had electric lamps installed on top, therefore the shelves have holes in them. We have used extra matching marble to repair many of the Plaza mantel shelves for our customers and this service is available upon request.
