Louis XVI White & Gray Marble Mantel

$13,500.00

SKU: Q285012 Categories: , , ,

This white marble mantel with gray veining has fluted rounded corners with classic floral motifs. The returns are carved in the manner of raised panels and a carved center plaque features four rosettes. An early to mid-19th century Louis XVI style piece, this piece epitomizes “Louis Seize” – a style of architecture, furniture, decoration and art just before the French Revolution. Designs in this style hearkened back to the purity and grandeur of the art of the Ancient Greeks. As such, this hand-carved piece has simple, clean lines, allowing the naturally luxe white and gray veined marble to resonate. This piece was acquired from an estate located in Greenwich, Connecticut designed by Alexandr Neratoff and is stamped with “Blondeaux Brevete S.G.D.G. Maubeuge Nord.” This mantel is complete with the original cast iron insert and is in excellent condition. Please visit us to find it on display in the showroom of our flagship store located at 333 W 52nd St. NYC.
