This late 1800s Gothic style fireplace mantel is made of carved gray Carrara marble that has been painted tan. There are floral details with griffins and a face at the center, egg and dart detailing below the shelf, and urns at the base of the front panels. It was reclaimed from a private residence at 132 East 71st Street, Manhattan. The mantel is in very good condition with no breaks. The actual color of the marble can be seen in a small unpainted area at the top of the right side panel. The fire screen is not included.
