This antique cast terra cotta bust of the goddess Ariadne, the immortal wife of the wine god Dionysus, was salvaged from The former Vanderbilt Hotel on 4 Park Avenue in New York City. The building was designed by architects Warren and Wetmore in 1912 and still stands today. It was made of two pieces, the top is hollow with a terra cotta outer surface and the bottom is filled with brick with a terra cotta outer surface. This construction allowed for easy transport and weight stability. There are several available with various conditions. This listing is for the statue pictured.
