These 100 year old windows are now transformed into lovely reconditioned mirrors, made from sustainable materials. Each mirror is sold with a sticker stating the authenticity of these frames. Copper clad window-framed mirrors are also available from other famous NYC buildings, such as the Toy Building, Cooper Union University and the McAlprin House (Herald Square). Auditorium Seats from Cooper Union’s Great Hall
Described on their website as follows: “The Great Hall of The Cooper Union has stood for more than a century as a bastion of free speech and a witness to the flow of American History and ideas. When the hall opened in 1858, more than a year in advance of the completion of the institution, it quickly became a mecca for all interested in serious discussion and debate of the vital issues of the day.
The Great Hall was the platform for some of the earliest workers’ rights campaigns and for the birth of the NAACP, the women’s suffrage movement and the American Red Cross. To the Great Hall’s podium has come a pageant of famous Americans rebels and reformers, poets and presidents. Before they were elected, Presidents Lincoln, Grant, Cleveland, Taft and Theodore Roosevelt all spoke there.”
Recently The Great Hall underwent reconstruction and all the original wooden auditorium chairs with upholstered seats were acquired by Olde Good Things. Share a piece of history with us. Sold as pairs or in quantity. Great for a small auditorium or even a home theater.
New Products from Olde Stuff: Coney Island Wood and Industrial Base Tables
In our last post, you saw our recent acquisition of wooden planks and beams from the Coney Island Boardwalk. Here’s a bench made from these salvaged planks of Brazilian walnut also known as Ipe. We used old iron stock as well to make a truly altered antique.
Also… more from the Table People… we have a unique line of industrial style tables with machine base legs and rustic white pine as well as breadboard oak tops. Here is just a sample.
