Pierre-Joseph Redouté, born in 1759, was a celebrated Belgian painter known as the “Raphael of flowers.” His precise botanical illustrations, especially of roses, made him renowned and influential in the world of botanical art.

This is a quality reproduction print of a red rose signed “La Duchess D’Orleans by Pierre-Joseph Redouté. La Duchesse D’Orleans is the French translation of The Duchess of Orleans. There is a small amount of water damage at the base of the print and the paint on the frame is scratched and chipped with one dent, but this is in overall good condition. The glass is intact and there is a mounting hook attached to the back. This art piece was reclaimed from The Hotel Pennsylvania. The Hotel Pennsylvania opened in 1919, is a historic hotel located in New York City near Penn Station. It is known for its grand architecture and prime location.
