Antique Quarter Sawn Oak Mirrored Captain’s Liquor Box

This is an old ship captains liquor box. Decanters would fit inside and when it was locked they could not be removed without breaking the box. The small compartments were for little glasses about the size of a shot glass. The hidden drawer usually held tobacco or tobacco products. Most interesting is the center wooden “button” you press down to open a hidden bottom drawer if you look carefully. The box has nice nickel hardware, a mirror, a key to lock the box and handles on each side.
