This piece was made in the early 1920s by C. Kurtzmann & Co. in Buffalo NY. C. Kurtzmann & Company was established by Christian Kurtzmann in Buffalo, NY in 1848. Kurtzmann was known for building very high quality expensive pianos and organs, and their instruments were often very elaborate and sometimes “overbuilt”. These instruments are truly amazing examples of old-world quality and craftsmanship. The piano interior is in original condition with the old strings. The wooden storage stool is not original to the piano but is included in the price. The piano appears to be made of imported Honduran Mahogany wood under the old deteriorated finish and is of the Edwardian style.
