Waldorf Astoria Duke of Windsor Conference Room Wood Mantel

This mantel is a new production combining components of solid wood with laminates. As with most everything done at the Waldorf Astoria, the quality of the craftsmanship is outstanding. The vertical supports feature inlaid panels of black and gold Italian Portoro marble. This mantel is classically designed with matching pairs of corbels at the top of each vertical support. The apron is modestly adorned with swags, a pair of miniature corbels, and a center floral motif. The top of the mantel shelf is slightly worn, however the finish on the rest of the mantel is in excellent condition. The inner trim at the firebox surround is separated from the main mantel. The top layer of the shelf needs to be reattached as well. This mantel was part of the decor in the NYC Waldorf Astoria conference room, named in recognition of the Duke of Windsor.
