Very unusual find! This antique fireplace mantel, once owned by Otto Preminger, consists of a flat molded arch of carved molded travertine marble with conforming side and top members, with a similar fire box surround and a carved key stone. The firebox surround is covered with lateritum opus. The marble is circa 1550 and the Roman brick is circa 100 AD.
