This odd shaped knob was made by Russell & Erwin in the 1879 catalog. Part of the C-1010 catalog. Design patent #D4,135, June 7, 1870 by J.J.C. Smith. Another Metallic Compression Casting Company masterpiece. Shown in the 1875 R&E catalog pg. 381 with pictured escutcheon. 2.5 inches $6.50 a pair, 2.25 inches $5.50 a pair. Escutcheon design patent # D3826, January 25, 1870 by Joseph A. Ruff assigned to Russell & Erwin. Sold as a single individual knob.
