19th Century Louis XV 8 Arm Cast Bronze Rococo Chandelier

This 1890s French chandelier is constructed of cast bronze in the Rococo style, featuring a heavy emphasis on organic and foliate motifs. The central baluster-shaped stem is heavily ornamented with scrolling acanthus leaves and a central shield-shaped cartouche, terminating in a decorative top loop for suspension. Eight scrolled arms extend from the central hub, each designed with a deep-relief leaf pattern that continues into the bobeches. The bobeches are shaped like flared, outspread leaves, each supporting a candelabra-style light socket with a slender, tan-colored sleeve. The bronze retains a dark, aged patina throughout the recesses of its cast details.
