Waldorf Astoria White and Verde Antico Marble Mantel

This small scale English Regency style mantel is carved from warm white marble with gray veining and inlaid with Verde Antico, a rich green marble with striking light green veining. The Verde Antico inlay runs the length of the apron and is framed by horizontal flutings at the top and bottom. Green marble medallions sit at the corner above each jamb, and the jambs mirror the apron, each carved with vertical flutings framing the Verde Antico inlay. This piece is finished with a three tiered shelf, epitomizing the thinner and less chunky shelf style and clean, rectilinear shapes prominently celebrated within English Regency.
This antique mantel was one of several pieces imported from Europe to furnish the historic Waldorf Astoria Hotel in NYC, which opened on October 1, 1931. This mantel is original to Room 14Y. A Waldorf Astoria authenticity card is included with your purchase.

Local Pick-Up
Local pick-up for most orders is available in our New York City store and Scranton, PA, warehouse. A fee may apply for larger or heavier items. Processing time may take 1 to 2 weeks. We also have a location in Los Angeles that we ship a large freight container to several times a year with store pick-up available. There is an additional handling charge for this option.
