Waldorf Astoria Tan & Pink Marble Mantel with Floral Carvings

This tan marble mantel is detailed with spectacular burgundy, gray, and white veining. An inlaid white marble centerpiece of floral carvings highlights the apron with carved panels on each side. Solid marble columns with delicately carved white marble Corinthian capitals flank the firebox opening. Above the columns are inlaid white marble corner motifs of a single hand carved sunflower. The round base of the columns is also done in white marble. The mantel is in very good condition and includes the matching marble hearth.
This mantel was imported from France to decorate the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in NYC, which opened on Park Avenue on October 1, 1931. Original to Suite 30 H4, a Waldorf Astoria authenticity card is included with your purchase.
This piece is in very good condition with wear consistent with its age. Please allow 3-4 weeks for processing.
