Waldorf Astoria Louis XVI French Regency Marble Mantel

This Louis XVI style mantel was carved from Rouge Royal marble with striking gray and white veining. A simple recessed panel spans the apron, while classically carved floral motifs stand out. The hearth is included.
This piece epitomizes "Louis Seize", a style of architecture, furniture, decoration, and art just before the French Revolution. Designs in this style hearkened back to the purity and grandeur of the art of the Ancient Greeks. As such, this hand carved piece has simple, clean lines.
Stamped "Made in France," this antique mantel was one of several pieces imported from France to furnish the historic Waldorf Astoria Hotel in NYC, which opened on October 1, 1931. This mantel is original to the J Suite on the 32nd floor of the Towers. A Waldorf Astoria authenticity card is included with your purchase.

Local Pick-Up
Local pick-up for most orders is available in our New York City store and Scranton, PA, warehouse. A fee may apply for larger or heavier items. Processing time may take 1 to 2 weeks. We also have a location in Los Angeles that we ship a large freight container to several times a year with store pick-up available. There is an additional handling charge for this option.
