Waldorf Astoria English Regency White & Green Marble Mantel

This 19th century English Regency mantel is carved from white statuary marble with light gray veining and inlaid with sage green breccia marble with forest green flecks. In the center of the apron is a horizontal white marble carving of an urn, framed to the left and right by fluting that runs the length of the apron. Complimenting this central motif, vertical statuary marble carvings of urns are positioned above each jamb. Deep fluting runs the length of each leg, and green breccia marble inlays frame the firebox opening. The statuary marble shelf is modestly finished with a single groove.
This antique mantel was one of several pieces imported from Europe to furnish the historic Waldorf Astoria Hotel in NYC, which opened on October 1, 1931. This mantel is original to room 31H of The Towers. A Waldorf Astoria authenticity card is included with your purchase.
Pictured still installed at the Waldorf Astoria, the original white marble hearth is available upon request. Kindly confirm the condition before purchasing. Located at our Scranton Warehouse, please allow 3-4 weeks for processing.
