Waldorf Astoria English Regency Marble Mantel with Cherub Figures

This English Regency style mantel is carved from statuary marble and inlaid with black and gold Portoro marble. In the center of the apron is a motif featuring a lifelike carving of an angel holding a torch, her robe flowing. Above each jamb are complementary motifs, each depicting a cherub holding a torch. The Protoro marble inlay runs across the apron and down each leg, framed by statuary marble fluting. The shelf is two tiered and carved with a single groove.
This antique mantel was one of several pieces imported from Europe to furnish the historic Waldorf Astoria Hotel in NYC, which opened on October 1, 1931. This mantel is original to Room 1414. A Waldorf Astoria authenticity card is included with your purchase.

Local Pick-Up
Local pick-up for most orders is available in our New York City store and Scranton, PA, warehouse. A fee may apply for larger or heavier items. Processing time may take 1 to 2 weeks. We also have a location in Los Angeles that we ship a large freight container to several times a year with store pick-up available. There is an additional handling charge for this option.
