This Black Friday, OGT did something special. In addition to a 20% Black Friday discount on eligible items online, we hand-selected five collections – each chosen in honor of our history as a company – available with an exclusive 25% savings. Discounts cannot be combined. Please find each of our collections below:
Industrial NYC Ironwork
OGT began over 30 years ago, salvaging in one of the greatest and most storied cities in the US. As the cast-iron capital of the world, New York City’s SoHo still has the largest collection of cast-iron buildings today. Those that were renovated found a home in our inventory. In honor of the city that gave OGT a running start, we present some of our favorite Industrial NYC Ironwork, each discounted by 25%.
Gilded Age Lighting
OGT recently hosted a keynote in the NYC showroom with designer and Emmy Award winning makeup Artist Michael Ladauti. Michael has historically restored 16 lobbies across NYC, each to the decade they were built. In this talk, Michael explored the conversion from oil to gas lighting and the impact on design. In honor of that recent keynote, we give you this curated collection of Gilded Age Lighting – each piece 25% off.
Historic Mantels and Fire Surrounds
“Filled to the lips of our souls are we
With the beauty given so lavishly,
And hand in hand with the night we come
Back to the light and the hearth of home.”
– “On the Hills” by Lucy Maud Montgomery
Within architecture, fireplace mantels are one of the most seminal pieces that can be salvaged. Over the years, we’ve collected exquisite original pieces from Brownstones in Brooklyn, mansions in Connecticut, hotels like The Plaza and The Waldorf Astoria, and more. One of our proudest moments was when we inherited a large collection from Danny Alessandro & Edwin Jackson Mantel Company. Danny and Edwin were fine mantel dealers who sourced pieces for private clients across the nation. In honor of the heart of the home, here is a selection spanning French and English design, showcasing Breche d’Alep marble, rouge royale, maple, and more from some of the storied homes and hotels above.
Old-Style Furniture
“Old Style” furniture ranges from vintage items that haven’t reached their 100th birthday to antique pieces one century old or older. What’s special about these pieces is that they were designed to serve a purpose that we still have a need for (desks, tables, cabinets…), but they were made from such quality materials that today, they are just not used when building the same piece. In honor of timeless function, our Olde-Style Furniture Collection features materials like leather, oak, mahogany, beveled glass, and more, offered at a discount that will never get old.
Small Treasures (Giftable Pieces Under $500)
Recently, a young lady visited our store in NYC for the first time. She was accompanied by a young man who fell in love with a Chesterfield sofa in the front. After making a few quiet rounds, she finally approached the desk – holding in her hands a small silver key. “It’s small, but I love it,” she said.” We totally understood.
This last collection is dedicated to all those who come to OGT to search and ultimately find. It takes a special mind and discerning eye to spy what is unique. Thank you for your curiosity, your dedication to craft, and for finding your inspiration.
