Louis XV style tan limestone mantel with carved details and a decorative shell motif in the middle of the header. This mantel was one of a group of antique mantels imported from Europe and installed in the Waldorf Astoria hotel in the 1930's when the hotel was first built on Park Avenue. This mantel is original to Room 36T2.
