Plaza Hotel Carved Carrara Marble Mantel with Gold Details

This antique carved marble mantel was reclaimed by Olde Good Things from the Plaza Hotel in New York City. A classic French design, with fluted jambs, minimal lines, and highlighted by details in bronze ormolu, this piece was crafted from white Carrara marble containing soft blue and gray veining.
A cast iron surround (not pictured) will be included at no extra charge upon request. Please ask for photos if interested. The round hole at the center rear of the shelf can be repaired for a minimal charge. The overall condition is very good, having some wear consistent with its age.
This mantel decorated suite 1163 of the world famous Plaza Hotel, which opened October 1, 1907, and underwent major renovations in 2005. This mantel represents a truly exceptional discovery that is a rare occurrence. The Plaza marked its grand reopening on March 1, 2008.

Local Pick-Up
Local pick-up for most orders is available in our New York City store and Scranton, PA, warehouse. A fee may apply for larger or heavier items. Processing time may take 1 to 2 weeks. We also have a location in Los Angeles that we ship a large freight container to several times a year with store pick-up available. There is an additional handling charge for this option.
