1860s Italian Style Carved Statuary Marble Mantel

This fine Italian style carved statuary white marble mantel is from the American Victorian period in the 1860s. It features a double rope arched opening with a beautiful figural keystone, carved shells, and foliage flanked by huge carved corbels and shell panels. The overall condition is very good, although there is some chipping on the edge of the mantel shelf.
