This fireplace is made up of three solid blocks of gray veined white statuary marble, with gentle curves and simple lines. The top of the surround is six inches deep and is a flat surface that can serve as a shelf. The blocks of this mantel are solid and heavy. The horizontal piece weighs close to 475 lb. This mantel was reclaimed and has some minor age appropriate wear. It is a classic piece as is, but almost certainly the vertical supports originally rested on plinth blocks. There are no plinth blocks included.
