This reclaimed mantel originates from the Plaza Hotel during its closure in 2005. Crafted from Carrara marble, it features a style characterized by soft lines, curves, and minimal details. While the mantels are in good condition, there is some wear from their previous use at the Plaza. The mantel includes a heavy cast iron insert and original paneled hearthstones, not shown here. Electric lamps were installed on top of the mantel shelves, resulting in holes, which we have repaired using matching marble. Made in the early 1900s, these mantels were specially crafted for the Plaza Hotel in the United States, which opened its doors on October 1, 1907, and expanded over a decade later.
