Original Marble Mantel from the Plaza Hotel in NYC with Bronze Ormolu

$17,000.00

Categories: , , , ,

This authentic marble mantel, dating back to the early 1900s, was salvaged from the historic Plaza Hotel in NYC and acquired by Olde Good Things in 2005. The marble features a distinctive blend of gold and dark veins, complemented by ornate bronze ormolu details, adding a touch of grandeur to any space. While the image represents the available mantels, please be aware that the veining may vary in the actual stock. Each mantel comes with a cast iron fireplace insert featuring a cherubic motif. The Plaza Hotel’s mantel shelves originally had electric lamps installed, resulting in holes. We have expertly repaired many of these shelves using matching marble for our customers. Additionally, original hearthstones are available, and they can be included with the purchase upon request. These unique mantels were crafted in the United States specifically for the Plaza Hotel, which opened its doors on October 1, 1907, and underwent expansion over a decade later. Please allow 2-3 weeks for processing.
