This work of art was done by the artist Stephen Knapp. It’s signed and dated 1964. Most of his work involved brilliant bold colors. He was commissioned to do the ‘bubbles’ for the exterior wall of the former Alexander’s department store in New York City. He was also commissioned to do the murals for Alexander’s in New Jersey, which are now in a museum. This piece is enamel over steel. It has eight sections, each about four ft. square. It’s 32 ft. overall.
