Four foot iron boat anchor
Description
Made of solid iron, and is quite old. Beautiful pitted surface accented with a rich patina. The top of central bar has a shackle, which has a seven-link chain attached. The bottom of the bar connects to the main shaft, and can swivel back and forth. The flukes, which are the spade-shaped members located on opposite ends of the main shaft, have the text 'Balot 13' and 'PSF 11 42'.
The anchor is approximately 2000 lbs. Considering its age, it is in good shape and is still structurally sound. The top of the central bar, below the shackle, is slightly bent to its side.
Dimensions
Overall 41.75 in. W (from fluke end to fluke end) x approximately 50 in. H x 20 in. D, central bar 3.9 in. W x 5 in. D
