Antique tiger oak carved over mantel
Description
This over mantel is from the Constable estate which was built in the late 1800s. The mansion was later used by a day school which painted all of the woodwork yellow (obviously to make it a brighter place for children attending the school). It can be stripped and refinished to reveal the original wood with its tiger stripes. It is made out of quarter sawn oak. The lower portion of the mantel was completely tile with an iron inset. This item is the over mantel only. Please see item no. K176366 for a matching set of column pilasters. They are not originally part of this mantel but would work well with it as the bottom portion.
