Wonderful carved marble mantel from 1860
Description
This fine carved statuary white marble mantel in the Italianate style is from the American Victorian period 1860s. It features a double rope arched opening with beautiful figural keystone, carved shells and foliage flanked by huge carved corbels and shell panels. The overall condition is very good, although there is some chipping on the edge of the mantel shelf.
